It succeeded the EU Data Protection Directive, which was also popularly known as Directive 95/46/EC. Its objective was to harmonize the laws related to data protection in the EU. The primary objective of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is to protect and strengthen the rights of individuals with respect to their personal data and its usage. Replicon is fully compliant with the GDPR and defines its customers as Data Controllers, because they state the purpose and the ways in which personal data of their employees and contractors are processed.
