Setting user sessions to automatically time out
You can set user sessions to automatically time out after a period of inactivity. You can define the length of the period of inactivity that results in an automatic logout.
Setting sessions to automatically time out improves system security by ensuring Polaris is not left open indefinitely if a user forgets to log out before leaving their workstation.
To set up automatic session time out:
- Go to Administration > System and Security > Security Settings.
- Click the Session Timeout field, and select the Log out after 30 minutes idle option.
Customize the timeout value, if desired, using minutes as the unit.
- Click Save.
FAQs
Is there a way to set automatic timeout for only a specific group of users?
No, this is a system-level preference, so the same timeout period applies to all users in your system.
