Recommended time off settings, if users are scheduled for variable hours per day
If you schedule users to work a variable numbers of hours depending on the day of the week, we recommend that you set each of the following fields to use hours:
- Units for all time off types for affected users (labeled as Accrue Time in for TimeAttend and TimeOff customers)
- If available, Time Off Display Format for all time off types for affected users
- If available, the Advanced > Policy Defined in setting for policies assigned to all affected users
We recommend this because, if any or all of these fields are set to days and a user’s scheduled hours per day varies, time off balance changes and accruals may seem counter-intuitive since Replicon uses:
- The hours per day scheduled on the last day of a booking to determine time off used
- The number of scheduled hours on the accrual day to determine the amount of time accrued
For example, if users can accrue and book time off in days, a user could accrue one day of time off on a day they are scheduled to work four hours, but use that one day of time off on a day they are scheduled to work 8 hours.
